DidedaThe flood affected families of Dideda village receive relief kits from VSSM….

The nomadic families from Saraniyaa and Gadaliyaa communities live in the Dideda village of Tharad block. The recent floods crumbled down their homes made of mud, their household goods mangled under the debris. The access road to the village remained blocked for days. VSSM’s Shardaben was able to reach these families only after 10 days. Every-time she went to inquire about the family she had to turn back. It was only after 10 days that she could access these families. They had taken shelter in the village school. Relief kits containing food grains, tarpaulin, vessels were given to these families.

The losses they have suffered are considerable and VSSM will stand by them as they rebuild their lives….

vssm દ્વારા દીદેડામાં રહેતાં વિચરતા પરિવારોને રાહત કીટ આપવામાં આવી.

થરાદ તાલુકાના દીદેડાગામમાં પુરના પાણી ગામમાં એવી રીતે ફરી વળ્યા કે ગામમાંથી બહાર જવાનો રસ્તો જ બંધ થઇ ગયો. vssmના કાર્યકર શારદાબેન પુરના પાણી ઓસર્યા પછી થરાદ અને વાવ તાલુકાના ગામોમાં ફરીને વિચરતી જાતિઓની સ્થિતિ જાણી રહ્યા હતાં. ત્યારે દીદેડાનો તો સંપર્ક જ ના થઇ શકે. પુર આવ્યાના ૧૦ દિવસ પછી શારાદાબેન ગામમાં પહોચી શક્યા.

ગામમાં વિચરતી જાતિના સરાણીયા અને ગાડલિયા પરિવારો રહે. આ પરિવારોના ઘર માટીથી બનાવેલાં. પુરના પાણી ઘરોમાં ઘુસી ગયા. આ પરિવારોએ ગામની શાળામાં આશરો લીધો હતો. માટીથી બનેલાં એમના ઘરો તૂટી ગયા. સામાન પણ એમાં દટાઈ ગયો. ખુબ નુકશાન થયું. આ પરિવારોને vssm દ્વારા અનાજ, વાસણ અને તાડપત્રી આપવામાં આવી. હવે તેમના ધંધા રોજગારમાં થયેલા નુકશાનમાંથી તેમને બેઠા કરવા માટે પણ vssm મદદરૂપ થશે.

VSSM relief kits reach nomadic families in Vav.

The Vav town in Banaskantha, has a settlement of nomadic families from Devipujak community. The floods of this July flooded the entire settlement. Some of the families here had constructed pucca homes with the assistance received from the government. During these natural catastrophe these houses remained marooned in water for days together as a result of which they developed cracks in it. All their house hold goods perished. The damages suffered by the families have been substantial.

These family members work in quarries. The floods have filled these quarries to the brim making it impossible for these families to resume the work and earn living. they will have to wait until the water evaporates or is pumped out by the quarry contractors.

As an immediate relief VSSM supplied relief kits containing foodgrains and tarpaulins. Until their homes are repaired these families will have to stay outside in makeshift structures.

vssm દ્વારા વાવમાં રહેતાં વિચરતા પરિવારોને રાહત કીટ આપવામાં આવી.

બનાસકાંઠાના વાવમાં દેવીપૂજક પરિવારો રહે. જુલાઈ ૨૦૧૫માં આવેલા પુરના પાણી વસાહતમાં ભરાઈ ગયા. સરકારની સહાયથી આ વસાહતના કેટલાક પરિવારોના ઘરો બંધાયેલા પણ પુરના પાણી સતત ભરાઈ રહેવાના કારણે ઘરોમાં ફાટ પડી ગઈ. ઘરમાં ભરેલો સામાન પણ પલળી ગયો. ખુબ નુકશાન થયું.

આ પરિવારો ખાણમાંથી પથ્થર કાઢવાનું કામ કરે. પણ પુરના પાણીના કારણે પથ્થરની ખાણો ભરાઈ ગઈ એટલે કામ પણ મળે નહિ.. આ સ્થિતિમાં તેમને સૌ પ્રથમ અનાજની જરૂરિયાત હતી જે vssm દ્વારા આપવામાં આવ્યું. સાથે સાથે ફાટ પડી ગયેલાં ઘરોમાં રહેવાં જતાં ડરતા પરિવારોને છાપરું બનાવવા માટે તાડપત્રી પણ આપવામાં આવી.

પૂરે જે તારાજી સર્જી છે એને ઠીક કરવા હજુ ઘણું કામ કરવાનું બાકી છે.

VSSM relief kits for the nomadic families of Denalkot.

Denalkot village of Tharad in Banaskanta has a settlement of the nomadic Bharthari families. The settlement is on higher grounds hence the recent natural disaster did not flood the homes of these families but the high velocity winds did blew away their makeshift homes. The Denalkot village was flooded with waters from catchment areas and heavy rains.

The settlement has no drinking water. While it was raining Gangaben Bharthari went to the village to fetch some drinking water. She wasn’t expecting the water flow to be so rapid, caught unawares she was swept away the gushing flow. Three days later when the waters receded a bit search for Gangaben began. Three days later her dead body was found. But the Denalkot panchayat refused to record a Panchnama, the reason they cited was “Gangaben did not belong to our village. She and her husband were here for begging since last three months only. The other nomadic families were witness to the fact that Gangaben died in Denalkot but who listens to the nomads?? Only if the Panchnama is registered in Denalkot will her husband receive compensation from the government.

“Had I got some money from the government I would have bought some house to stay, but nomads and luck do not go together!!!” said her husband.

VSSM gave these families the relief kits required to to provide relief from the calamity. VSSM’s Shardaben tried her level best to get a Panchnama recorded but Denalkot Panchayat’s attitude remained very discouraging. Waiting for the dawn when the nomadic families receive the same treatment as other individuals do!!!

બનાસકાંઠાના થરાદ તાલુકાના ડેનલકોટગામમાં ભરથરી પરિવારો રહે છે. આ પરિવારોનો વસવાટ ગામના ઊંચાળવાળા ભાગમાં ૨૮ જુલાઈના રોજ આવેલા પૂરમાં આ પરિવારોને કોઈ નુકશાન ના થયું પણ વાવાઝોડાએ એમના છાપરાં ઉડાળી દીધા.

પૂરનું પાણી આખા ગામમાં પ્રસરી ગયેલું. વસાહતમાં પીવા પાણી નહિ. આવામાં ગંગાબહેન ભરથરી પીવાનું પાણી ભરવા માટે ઉપર વાસમાંથી નીચાણવાળા વિસ્તારમાં આવ્યાં પણ પાણીનો પ્રવાહ ખુબ હતો એમાં ગંગાબહેન તણાઈ ગયા. પાણી ઓસર્યા પછી એમની શોધ ખોળ શરુ કરી. ત્રણ દિવસે લાશ મળી. પણ ડેનલકોટ ગામની પંચાયત એમના મૃત્યુનું પંચનામું કરવા તૈયાર નથી. પંચાયતના કહેવા પ્રમાણે, ‘ગંગાબહેન અમારા ગામના વતની નથી એટલે અમે એમનું પંચનામું ના કરીએ. ‘વિચરતી જાતિનું તો કોઈ જ ગામ નથી વળી છેલ્લા ત્રણ મહિનાથી ગંગાબહેન અને એમના પતિ આ વિસ્તારમાં ભિક્ષાવૃતિ અર્થે આવેલા અને આ અકસ્માત થયો. ડેનલકોટના બીજા ભરથરી પરિવારો ગંગાબહેનનું મૃત્યુ ડેનલકોટમાં જ થયું છે એવી સાક્ષી પૂરે પણ એમની વાતનું ગામમાં કેટલું ઉપજે? અહિયાં પંચનામું થાય તો સરકાર દ્વારા ગંગાબહેનના પતિને એક રકમ મળે. એમના પતિ કહે એમ, અગર ગંગાના મર્યાના પૈસા આવે તો ક્યાંક ખોલી લઇ લેત. પણ અમારું (વિચરતી જાતિનું) નસીબ જુઓ..’

આ પરિવારોને વાવાઝોડાના કારણે થયેલા નુકશાનના પહોચી વળવા vssm દ્વારા રાહતકીટ આપવામાં આવી. vssm ના કાર્યકર શારદાબહેને ગંગાબહેનનું પંચનામું મળે એ માટે ખુબ કોશિશ કરી પંચાયતનો રવૈયો આ પરિવારો માટે ખુબ નકારાત્મક. ક્યારે સમાજનું વલણ આ પરિવારો માટે હકારાત્મક થશે? ક્યારે આ પરિવારો પણ માણસ છે એમ ગણી એમને સ્વીકારવામાં આવશે.. વો સુબહ કભી તો આયેગીની રાહમાં...
