The nomadic families belonging to Devipujak, Vansvadee and Gwariya communities stay in the village of Vadgamda in Tharad block. The families belonging to all these communities are engaged in varied occupations and all of them suffered great loss to their livelihoods during the floods. The Devipujak families make their living from making tin-stoves or chulas, sieves etc., some work as agricultural labourers and some lease farming land and give third part of earning to the land owner. The crops of these farming families got washed away causing them immense loss. -
The Gawariya families lost all the articles, imitation jewellery and cosmetics, they had bought from the wholesale merchants to sell for the upcoming festive season. The Vansfoda families have also incurred heavy losses because all their raw materials and finished baskets they had weaved have been swept away in the gushing flood waters. Since these families do not have savings to go rely on, the challenges of finding work until the flood waters recede and things get back to normal is also nerve wrecking. All these communities have suffered an emotional and financial blow as a result of this natural calamity.

As an immediate relief measure VSSM’s relief kits containing food, grains and tarpaulins did reach them but the focus is now going to be on rehabilitating these flood ravaged families. VSSM intends to extend them interest free loans.
vssm દ્વારા વડગામડામાં રહેતાં વિચરતા પરિવારોને રાહત કીટ આપવામાં આવી.
થરાદના વડગામડામાં દેવીપૂજક, વાંસવાદી અને ગવારીયા પરિવારો રહે. દેવીપૂજક પતરામાંથી ચુલા, ચારણી વગેરે બનાવીને વેચે જયારે કેટલાંક દેવીપૂજક ખેતીકામમાં મજૂરી કરવા જા ય. કેટલાંક ત્રીજા ભાગે ખેતી કરે. પુરના કારણે ભાગવી જમીન રાખતાં દેવીપૂજકને ખુબ નુકશાન થયું. જે જમીન તેઓ વાવતાં એ જમીનો ધોવાઇ ગઈ જેના કારણે જમીનમાં વાવેલું બધું જ ધોવાઇ ગયું.
