Teh plans were made, we were preparing to distribute relief kits to 1000 families, donations had began pouring in, orders were given for food grain kits. The material to be distributed was close to 30 tons. All these bags had to be loaded in a truck that was going to Banaskantha. The truck driver with whom the trip was fixed, at the last moment refused to go to Banaskantha. A different transport agency was given the assignment. 30 tons of goods had to be moved to another truck, it was night and there was no help, the truck had to depart in early morning. What do we do now??

Mrudangbhai, Snajaybhai, Viki, Param, Maulik, Dimpleben the well-wishers associated with us assured us not to worry and began moving the goods to another truck. Our untiring Jayantibhai, Ramesh, Kanubhai, Tohid, Vrutika - VSSM team members, took  up the tak with swiftness and vigour. The good are to be moved and there is no one to do that was the message that reached the girls staying with the hostel, they rushed in to help, “we will also help, Didi…. don’t worry” they actually began lifting the goods. I began to worry and asked them to stay back., “Didi we are used to lifting heavy pots and grass stacks back home, so don’t worry we will do it.” They knew that the goods were for the people of their region, may be their parents and they wanted to pitch in and do their bit. 

The task we began at 11 at night was finished at 4 in the morning. More than 30 tons of goods were moved to another truck. Our entire body ached and fingers hurt badly. But the thought that all these was reaching to those in dire need of help eased our pain.

Our team was to accompany the goods and do the distribution so they did not sleep at all. I slept of 3 hours in the office itself. By the time I was up at 7 in the morning the truck had already left by 8  my whatsapp began receiving the pictures of distribution. The VSSM team tirelessly distributed 1000 kits. 

It is the efforts of such dedicated team members that keeps the work going at VSSM, our well wishers Mrudangbhai, Sanjaybhai, Maulik, Viki did not allow us to give up hope and worked till the end. Our dear daughters also remained with us till the end of the task and helped us move the goods. Am I proud??Of course I am to be associated with such zealous and dedicated human beings.  

vssmની સુંદર ટીમ, શુભેચ્છક મિત્રો અને અમારી હોસ્ટેલની દીકરીઓ માટે ગૌરવ 

બનાસકાંઠામાં આવેલી પુર હોનારતમાં વિચરતા અને વંચિત પરિવારોને મદદરૂપ થવાનું નક્કી કર્યું. ૧૦૦૦ પરિવારોને જરૂરી અનાજ, તાડપત્રી અને અન્ય વિગતોના ઓર્ડર આપ્યા. કેટલું લોકો આપી ગયા. કુલ ૩૦ ટન કરતાં વધારે સામાન થયો. જે ટ્રકોમાં ચડાવવાનો હતો. તા.૭મીએ સાંજે જે ટ્રકમાં ઓર્ડર કરેલો સામાન આવ્યો એણે બનાસકાંઠા આવવાની ના પાડી. અમારે બીજી ટ્રકમાં સામાન ફેરવવાનો હતો. રાતના કોઈ માણસો પણ ના મળે અને નક્કી કર્યા પ્રમાણે સવારે વિતરણ માટે નીકળવાનું હતું. શુ કરવું?

vssm સાથે સંકળાયેલા વહાલાં સ્વજન એવા મૃદંગભાઈ, સંજયભાઈ, વીકી, પરમ, મૌલિક, ડિમ્પલબેને ચિંતા ના કરવાનું કહી સામાન ઉપાડવાનું શરુ કર્યું. vssm ટીમમાં અમારા ક્યારેય ના થાકતા કાર્યકર જયંતીભાઈ, રમેશ, કનુભાઈ, તોહીદ, વૃતિકાએ તો ફટાફટ સામાન ફેરવવાનું શરુ કર્યું.. સામાન ફેરવાઈ રહ્યો છે અને માણસો નથી એ અંગે અમારી હોસ્ટેલની દીકરીઓને ખબર પડી જે એ વિસ્તારની છે અને એમના માં-બાપને પણ આ બધું આપવાનું છે એવી એમને ખબર. ‘અમે પણ સામાન ઉપાડીશું. દીદી.. ચિંતા ના કરો’ અને ખરેખર દીકરીઓ સામાન ઉપાડવા માંડી. મને ચિંતા થાય. અમે ના પાડી તો એમણે કહ્યું, ‘દીદી ખેતરમાં ઘાસના પોટલા અને પાણીના બેડા ઉપાડિયે જ છીએ ચિંતા ના કરો.' ૧૧ વાગે શરુ કરેલું કામ અમે ૪ વાગે પતાવ્યું. ૩૦ ટન કરતાં વધારે સામાન ફેરવ્યો. આંગળીઓ અને શરીર દુખવા માંડ્યું. પણ આનંદ એ વાતનો હતો કે જરૂરિયાતવાળા માણસોને આ બધું પહોચવાનું છે. 

vssm ટીમ તો સવારે વિતરણ માટે નીકળવાની હતી એટલે એ લોકો તો સુતા જ નહિ. હું પણ ત્રણ કલાક ઓફિસમાં જ સુઈ ગઈ ૭ વાગે ઉઠી ત્યારે તો ટ્રકો નીકળી ગઈ હતી અને ૮ વાગે તો વિતરણના ફોટો વોટસપ પર આવવાં માંડ્યા. થાક્યા વગર ૧૦૦૦ ઉપરાંત કીટનું વિતરણ vssmના કાર્યકરોએ કર્યું.. અમારી સાથે અને પાસે આવા લાગણીશીલ અને  કર્મઠ કાર્યકરો છે એનો આનંદ છે અને એટલે જ આ કામો થાય છે.. જયારે vssm સાથે સંકળાયેલા શુભેચ્છકોમાંના મૃદંગભાઈ, સંજયભાઈ, મૌલિક અને વીકીએ હિંમત બનાવી રાખી છેક છેલ્લે સુધી સામાન ફેરવવા માટે અમને જુસ્સો પૂરો પડ્યો. અને અમારી વહાલી પરી જેવી દીકરીઓ જે છેક સુધી થાક્યા વગર સમાન ફેરવતી રહી. આવા સુંદર સાથીદારો આમારી સાથે છે એનું ગૌરવ છે..
